Halfway There!

We just had our 20 week ultrasound today! Theodore Coleman Payne is growing wonderfully! This is the ultrasound that took about an hour to do because they check for most of his major organ functions (brain, heart, kidneys, diaphragm, spine). They also checked my cervix again and it is normal as well!

Getting poked and prodded around for an hour is kinda painful, let me tell you, especially when you have to go to the bathroom! It didn't help that Teddy was moving around A LOT and she had to roll all over my stomach to get certain shots.

After all was said and done, Teddy is around 6 inches long (roughly) and weighs 13 ounces. He is right on schedule at 20 weeks. I clocked in at 142 lbs. My belly is getting bigger all the time! Coleman says I'm starting to get a little basketball belly. I hope he's right! I've really only gained like 15 lbs so far. Although the sonogram tech said that I was in great shape because the soundwaves were causing everything to be really clear! I took that as a compliment haha.

Like I said, Teddy was moving around a lot but I still haven't felt any movement. Sometimes when I lay down I can feel like my stomach is growling or something rolling around but no good kicks or punches in the ribs yet.

I wish the tech had given us more pictures of what Teddy looks like. It is absolutely amazing how clearly you can see everything about him. This is my favorite picture from today:

I told Coleman he definitely has my feet so far! Also, here is a picture of confirmation that it is a boy:

No question about it, it is definitely a boy! I wish I had pictures of where you could even see the umbilical cord. It was so cool!

Dr. Taylor asked if we wanted to get the quad screen. That's the test where they check for Downs and other neural/spinal defects. It has a really high rate of false positives. We have no family history of anything like that and I've been really good about my diet and taking my prenatals (I've been taking them for years!) Dr. Taylor told us that if it doesn't change how you feel about the pregnancy then don't do it. My friend Amy kind of talked me out of it too. So we didn't get it.

Just wanted to give everyone the latest update on Teddy. He is perfect and so am I! Next appointment is Friday April 13 (24 weeks)! I'll leave you with this picture of his sweet face. . .
